Dear Polisch friends,
May I have your attention for the following,
This week, PBS Chicago WTTW will present an exciting TV broadcast of a young European Poporchestra, Guido's Orchestra. The orchestra is lead by the young Dutch orchestra leader Guido Dieteren, who took for many years masterclasses by famous Polish violin professors as Robert Szreder. Thanks to this contact, Guido works already for years together with very talented young Polish musicians.
The name of the broadcast is: Guido's Orchestra, live from the heart of Europe.
The broadcasts takes place on March 21st at 20.30 PM WTTW Chicago PBS
The show is taped exactly on the spot were the three countries Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands meet. On that spot, Guido built a huge stage and performed a wonderful concert in front of 7.000 spectators of the 3 countries. The show was opened with the European Hymn of Ludwig van Beethoven.
This wonderful modern and energetic poporchestra (28 members) represents 9 European countries. Seven young Polish musicians are participating in this one of a kind project (6 violinists and 1 saxophone player). The only language what is used in this orchestra is the universal language of music, which communicates from heart to heart. The average age of the orchestra musicians is 27 years.
They have a dream, to conquer the World with their European musicians and cross-over poporchestra music. One of their first steps is the national PBS TV deal they signed exactly on the border of the three countries on June 27th 2009. Recently they signed a record deal for the US and they hope, that they will have a major breakthrough in the US. This breakthrough will be a gateway to other continents as Asia and Australia. This special will be broadcasted in 11 countries next year.
During the last years, they were honoured to work with some world stars as Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Braxton and Elvis Costello. The career path of Guido's Orchestra for the next years is looking very positive.
But as real Europeans, they know, that a lot of work still has to been done. The US is a big country and they need all the support of you, the Polish people, to make it happen and to be introduced to the American people and society. They will promote Europe as cultural ambassadors in all the interviews and also thanks to their TV special Live from the heart of Europe.
In Chicago they will perform a concert on Friday September 24th 2010 in the Harris Theatre Nordstrom .Their goal is, to perform in front of a full audience.
It's really important for them and their career in America, to receive good TV ratings and a lot of support for Houston PBS (Concert tickets and CD/DVD donations). How better the result, the more broadcasts the orchestra will get in April, May and June. If Chicago is successful, then the other stations in the US will follow that example.
Please help this wonderful European poporchestra and make them a household name in Chicago, so they will visit us many times again in Chicago for new shows.
If you like the broadcast, tell your friends and neighbours, many Polish are on TV in Chicago!
Guido's Orchestra believes that Music education is very important for children and will co-operate in Chicago with a local Highschool choir . The choir will perform 4 pieces together with Guido's Orchestra in the show.
All the help and suggestions to support Guido's Orchestra are very welcome.
